There are few foods cheaper or more common than frozen pizza.
So, this week, we're doing frozen pizza! From classics like
Red Baron's Deep Dish Pizza to Ore-Ida
Pizza Bites, with a Stoufer's French Bread
Pizza thrown in for fun. We also try some healthy options,
in particular Amy's Margherita Pizza and
Kashi Mediterranean Pizza. Finally, for variety,
we try California Pizza Kitchen Crispy Thin Crust Hawaiian
Pizza, Michelina's Lean Gourmet Pepperoni
Bites, and World Classics Bruschetta. We
pair all of this with Vendange Pinot Grigio (in a
box!) and New Belgum Fat Tire Amber Ale.
We'll also talk about our eat fresh options this week, have some
excitement with a microwave crisping tray, and yell "For Science!"
at least once.
Remember we eat it so you don't have to, even when we feel a little
weird about eating something...
I think the California Pizza Kitchen one deserves a second chance, given the whole "oops" deal. As for tomato sauce, it's more likely they are using the same TYPE of mass-grown, CO2-ripened tomato that the processed food industry has clasped to its collective bosom, which has the same flavor as the box they are packed in. Tomatoes you grow in your backyard are guaranteed to have better flavor. Even if you live in Newark.
